pending sale of the Allianz Commercial (MidCorp / Entertainment)
business to Arch Insurance (Arch). By the end of May (or shortly
after hiring for those hired by Allianz in the latter part of May
or thereafter), Arch is expected to make comparable offers of
employment to the employees of the MidCorp/Entertainment business,
conditioned upon, and subject to, the closing of the transaction.
The transaction is expected to close following, and subject to, the
satisfaction of all applicable closing conditions, including
regulatory approval of the transaction. If an employee receives and
accepts Arch's offer of employment, subject to the employee's
satisfaction of the conditions to Arch's offer, the employee will
commence employment with Arch at, and subject to, the close of the
transaction . At that time, the employee will be covered by Arch's

Engineer - MidCorp. This position is remote and candidates must
reside in one of the following Midwest states: Ohio, Michigan,
Missouri, or Southern Illinois. Your Team Our Allianz Risk
Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a
wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team
provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural
hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to
in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures,
across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering
bespoke training plans to help optimize risk management procedures
in the long term. Whether it's hotel groups, restaurant groups,
warehouse, or manufacturing, we can call on many years of specific
business risk experience - creating tailor-made risk management
services to respond to unique challenges. The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the NA MidCorp manager, this position is responsible
for providing loss control expertise, support, and assistance to
AzC (Allianz Commercial) and its customers, to assist Allianz
underwriting in risk selection and retention. Provide ongoing
co-ordination and monitoring of the loss control activity/servicing
of assigned accounts & loss control survey work to assist with
servicing of assigned accounts. Develop and maintain professional
working relationships with Underwriting, Market Management,
Communications, Claims, clients and brokers. Maintain and enhance
technical skills and expertise in respective field to support the
business. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Managing the engineering/loss control of an assigned list of
accounts. Complete desk top reviews and risk assessments (pre &
post loss) for underwriting evaluating and summarizing exposures
and controls.
- Work with underwriting, claims, the client and the broker where
appropriate to develop customized loss control programs including
locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing
service), scope ad cost of risk consulting services.
- Generate and review required reports and recommendations. Meet
reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance
objectives.
- Survey client operations obtain appropriate data, identify
hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate loss
control reports, recommendations etc.
- Appoint/monitor 3rd parties ensuring adequate contract/controls
in place with budgets agreed up front. Check and ensure quality of
work provided by 3rd parties.
- Assist AzC and clients with respect to ongoing or specific
projects. Support technical training presentations for internal and
external clients as required/appropriate. What You'll Bring to the
Role -
- Minimum 7 years' loss prevention engineering experience.
Experience doing both account management and site/field surveys.
With good knowledge and professional experience in business
sectors.
- Business sectors can include: property, general liability,
auto, and workers compensation
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering related field. A bachelor's
degree in Environmental Health and Safety with relevant insurance
industry engineer experience. Or equivalent in other areas will be
considered in conjunction with extensive technical experience.
- A demonstrable engineering/technical expertise. Or an
underwriter with property, casualty, or package underwriting
experience looking to transition to risk is also acceptable.
- Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new
technologies in field. The annualized base pay range for this role
is $92,591 to $175,255. The annual base salary range represents a
nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be
above and will be determined by several factors, including the
scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education,
training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base
pay is just one component of the AcZ total compensation package. As
