Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst, Merchandising Analytics will work closely with the senior Merchandising Analytics team leader and will be an integral part of the team. - Operating under the Merchandising team umbrella, the Senior Analyst, Merchandising Analytics is primarily responsible for providing data, reporting, and analytics support for the following types of initiatives:


  • Merchandising period-level KPI reporting
  • Merchandising annual sales and vendor support budgeting and forecasting
  • Merchandising Analytics initiatives data collection, reporting, and analytics
  • Merchandising Analytics scorecard reporting
  • DC Category-Brand level GBB reporting - KeHE, Syndicated Market, Syndicated Retailer

    Essential Functions

    • Gather data, assemble KPI metrics in support of each period's KPI reporting for the Merchandising team. - Partner with Merchandising team subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure the Merchandising KPI master deck is complete and finalized.
    • Partner with the Finance and Category Management teams to create category level sales, profitability, and SKU count forecasts and budgets by category. - Develop corporate level SKU Productivity budgets for each distribution center and the enterprise. -
    • Analyze customer initiatives, primarily APL product and supplier match - no match reviews, analyze DC capacity constraints, and summarize their findings for review. - Communicate summarized findings to senior leadership. -
    • Gather data, assemble workbooks in support of customer initiatives, and DC assortment initiatives. - Utilize data to identify and activate new items, new suppliers, implement restrictions & prohibits, etc. required for the successful completion of the project. - Identify limited performance items that may be needed to be discontinued from the distribution center to make room for new item assortments.
    • Support Merchandising Excellence initiatives by providing project initiative scorecards on a regular basis. - Work with Business Science team members to create and maintain scorecard dashboards as required.
    • Develop and maintain DC Category-Brand level GBB (Good, Better, Best) reporting across KeHE, syndicated market, and syndicated retailer data sets. - Incorporate data sets into 'outcome-oriented' initiatives designed to drive Merchandising and Operational efficiency results.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

      Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
      • Minimum 2-3 years of experience, or similar CPG - Retail industry experience preferred.
      • Familiarization with KeHE tools and systems, a plus.

        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

        • Advanced Microsoft Office skills preferably in Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables and Vlookup functions.
        • Strong verbal, written and organizational communication skills required.
        • Excellent interpersonal abilities such as being relational with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
        • High energy level; comfortability with performing multifaceted analytical work in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
        • High degree of self-motivation and dependability.
        • Ability to analyze data and translate into insights.
        • Highly credible, collaborative, and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
