Job Description:
RN Administrative Supervisor-Linden Oaks - Naperville,
ILResponsible for the operations of the hospital during days,
evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in collaboration with the
LOH Administrator on call.-- Ensures the safe and efficient
delivery of patient care by monitoring hospital census, patient
acuity and staffing patterns.-- Ensures the availability of staff
and other resources necessary for efficient patient care.-- Assists
with the triaging and admission of patients from referring
institutions.-- Manages complex patient concerns and complaints.--
Communicates with hospital managers to ensure the appropriate
follow up and resolution of identified issues.--

- Supervises and delivers quality general and psychiatric nursing
care to all patient populations hospitalized for treatment of
psychiatric, emotional disorders, and addictive disease.--
Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team,
supporting the hospital philosophy of patient care.-- Ensures the
safety and well-being of each patient.-- Provides administrative
support to staff during after-hour operations.
- Coordinates hospital admissions with the Resource and Referral
department, referring institutions and hospital inpatient
departments.-- Serves as a liaison with medical staff and hospital
administration as necessary.
- Responsible for the hospital census and acuity to ensure
appropriate staffing and placement of patients.-- Flexes staffing
to meet the needs of the patient population.--
- Provides direct clinical or administrative consultation to
staff on complex patient and family issues.-- Directs clinical
decision making and assists with the resolution of complex patient
care issues.
- Identifies patterns and trends in patient care and identifies
opportunities for improvement.-- .--
- Assists with data collection and analysis for continuous
process improvement.-- Collaborates with the Clinical Leaders
and/or Director to implement process changes on the day, evening,
night, weekends and holiday shifts.
- Complies with facility safety, infection control and security
program.
- Serves as professional resource person to subordinates in
resolving nursing care or management problems such as
interdepartmental barriers to delivery of care.-- Utilizes
appropriate resources in resolving same.-- Serves as a resource for
staff on policy, procedure and mental health code.-- Has a working
knowledge of admission process, paperwork, and electronic medical
record.-- ------
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with a variety of
Hospital and ancillary department personnel necessary in order to
obtain solutions to problems and improve coordination of services
provided.
- Maintains and enhances Hospital's public and employee relations
efforts through contacts with patients, visitors and staff, and
through investigation and resolution of complaints or
concerns.
- Develops and maintains a variety of external contacts with
educational institutions, regulatory and service agencies, and
community and professional organizations.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the
field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature
and attending related conferences, seminars and the like.
- Maintains current CPR and CPI and maintains compliance per
hospital policy.--
- Required to attend the Nursing Administration/Leadership and
All Staff meetings.-- If unable to attend communicate with Director
of Clinical Excellence and Nursing to obtain information
disseminated at meeting.
Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree or higher
- Minimum of three years of management/supervisory experience or
a minimum of five years psychiatric nursing care experience or a
combination of five years of experience management/supervisory and
psychiatric nursing care experience
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses
- Prior experience with management of patients with psychiatric
conditions
- Prior experience with the use of psychotropic medications
within all age groups
- Knowledge of crisis intervention skills and treatment
procedures

License/Certification Required:
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart
Association
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90
days of hire

License/Certification Preferred:
- Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (ANCC) or
other relevant certifications
