Job Description:
Opportunity at a Glance:The individual in this position is
responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of
functional team managers for Registrar Operations in the
Institutional Support Services department. The expectations of this
position, as it refers to the leading and management of people, is
greater than the management of daily functional tasks. The
individual in this position is charged with leading and
exemplifying the ways in which things are done rather than the
managing of outcomes. They are tasked with creating and promoting
an environment of consistency and accuracy in the application of
academic policies and procedures, which serve to meet the needs of
stakeholders in a matrixed organization. This individual works
collaboratively to drive focused performance, aimed at improving
the student experience and supporting growth, that consistently
delivers on agreed upon expectations. They are also responsible for
the establishment of key processes that systematically motivate the
team and create receptivity to change and organizational
efficiency.Responsibilities:Responsible for supervision of daily
operations of Registrar Operations functional team managers, which
includes identifying mechanisms to improve workflow and maximize
productivity to ensure efficient and timely completion of
work.Participates in the execution of both short-term and long-term
strategies to ensure Registrar Operations and Institutional Support
Services goals are met.Promotes and maintains the integrity of
academic policy and procedures and ensures adherence.Promotes a
continuous improvement and change management culture throughout the
Registrar Operations function.Builds positive, mutually supportive
cross functional relationships that support successful
collaboration.Participates in annual budget planning and the
monitoring of expenses to drive continuous cost containment
measures.Models a leadership style that is service oriented,
positive, respectful, collaborative, and assertive especially
during periods of pressure, conflict and constraints.Supports the
professional growth of direct reports and their teams while
fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment that
is reflective of Adtalem's commitment to diversity, equity and
inclusion.Fulfills management responsibilities which include the
following: planning, assigning, and directing work of direct
reports, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and
resolving problems.Collaborates with team to rollout new
initiatives, consults with business stakeholders to draw out
concerns, and prioritize stakeholder focus.Raises issues, risks to
Senior Director and executes resolution and mitigation of future
risks.Participates in the development of processes, controls,
reports, evaluation and in the reviews of academic policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State
regulations.

required.Minimum of 7-10 years management experience required;
shared services environment and experience managing leaders
preferred.Areas of expertise should include Registrar functions and
responsibilities, academic policy, procedures and programs, and
related Student Finance and Student Services knowledge.Experience
working with diverse functional business units in a matrixed
environment.Proven track record of managing up, conflict resolution
and change management principles that harmonize teams serving
organizational interests.Ability to drive projects and results
through development of stakeholder relationships in a matrixed
environment.Ability to coach, develop, and mentor leaders as a
means to build strong lines of departmental succession.Strong
interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with individuals
across all organizational levels.Must be self-motivated, adaptable
to change and able to shift focus and direction quickly and
efficiently.Excellent communication, interpersonal and
organizational skills with ability to set priorities and deadlines
to ensure projects are completed.Knowledge of FERPA and AACRAO
