test. The Chief Data Officer will not only help structure and
analyze large datasets, but also focus on transforming Ascension
into an analysis-based, decision-making organization. This
executive will lead a team responsible for working with clinical
data, claims data, financial data, operational data, facilities
data and complex consumer/patient interactions. The Chief Data
Officer will be expected to deliver new insights for the
organization, making connections between existing data sets and
innovative external data to help patients thrive. The Chief Data
Officer will bring an engineering mindset to data and analytical
methods, in order to build solutions that are highly scalable,
flexible and unique to Ascension's transformative and digital
goals. -What You Will DoKEY RESPONSIBILITIES - -Lead a team to
deliver on a long-term strategic vision for data-driven business
capabilities. - -Develop a prioritized multi-year road map to
enhance and create new data solutions and drive measurable
competitive advantage in the marketplace. Determine the investments
necessary in terms of people and technology to achieve these
objectives. - -Define and implement policies, processes and
procedures for the governance and management of data, including
data capture, storage, data architecture, security, integration,
reporting, business intelligence, analytics and data science. -
-Deliver the foundational technology platform and service layers
for reporting, analytics, data science and AI, leveraging reusable,
scalable architectures to enable ongoing modernization efforts. -
-Recruit, motivate, develop and retain a high-performance,
cross-functional data team. Build multiple successors and a team
that meets the business needs of the future. - -Embrace
leading-edge architectural foundations across data, applications
and infrastructure, including the use of cloud technologies (GCP,
AWS, Azure, etc.).Partner with the Chief Data Science Officer and
provide input on the analytics strategy of the organization by
staying up to date on and sharing the latest analytics innovations.
- -Ensure that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, secure and
can serve multiple stakeholders within the company. - -Translate
complex functional and technical requirements into detailed
architecture, design and high performing software. - -Implement
security and recovery tools and techniques as required. - -Ensure
all automated processes preserve data integrity by managing the
alignment of data availability and integration processes. -What You
Will NeedEducation:Bachelor's degree required.Master's degree
preferred.Work Experience:7 years of experience required.10 years
of experience preferred.5 years of leadership or management
experience preferred.Additional PreferencesExpert knowledge of data
modeling and understanding of different data structures Capability
to architect highly scalable distributed systems, using different
open source tools. Demonstrated experience with object-oriented
design, coding and testing patterns, as well as experience in
engineering software platforms and large-scale data. Experience
using big-data batch and streaming tools. -Experience in
operationalizing enterprise-wide data governance and data
qualityDepth in emerging data-enabling technologies and methods
-Including the development of strategies to operate in cloud based
data platforms and innovative technologies, specifically in
healthcare/insurance/retail environments. -Team leadership of more
than 50 employees -Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead
others and work with minimal direction, with the proven ability to
coordinate complex activities. Demonstrated ability to build a
sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable and effective
workplace. Experience in developing presentations and
communications to be shared with stakeholders. -Leadership
experience of 7 years or more with overall experience of more than
15 years in the Information Technology/Data & Analytics
domainAdvanced degree in information technology, computer science,
data science, statistics, engineering or a related quantitative
