Now, all we need is you! As a Manager in Small Group Market, you
will assist in leading a team of benefits specialists, and account
managers servicing the small group employee benefits business
dedicated to -------house accounts----- (primarily less than 50
lives). The individual in this position will report to the Director
of Select Accounts. Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operations of the small group market team
dedicated to -------house accounts----- which are managed
independently by the team
- Manage a book of business comprised of small group clients
requiring additional complexity and stewardship
- Subject matter expert and first point of contact on topics
pertinent to the Small Group Account Specialist and Account Manager
role
- Ensure the necessary resources and tools are available to
support the lifecycle of a customer (onboarding, policy
implementation, renewal, life events, etc.)
- Develop and lead account transition process for groups
transitioning into the market segment
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize
efficiency
- Partner with the appropriate internal and external parties to
coordinate review of SPD--------s, contracts, and legal documents
to ensure compliance
- Ensure agency management system adoption and accuracy of all
data related to production information in all agency management
systems
- Liaison with Lead Benefits Coordinators on training and best
practices
- Identify and implement strategies to improve quality of
service, productivity, and client retention
- Analyze relevant data to determine workload and client
retention metrics
- Establish and leverage strong partnerships with key departments
and internal/external customers
- Liaise with leadership team, VP of Consulting and Director of
Select Accounts to support and implement growth strategies
- Hire, develop, train, and manage employee performance
- Obtain and maintain all licensing and continued education
requirements
- Research, recommend and implement plan designs and strategies
that meet client--------s needs and long-term goals
- In partnership with team colleagues, assist in the new business
and retention sales process through preparation of RFP--------s,
proposals, and presentations
- Lead client meetings independently to identify client goals and
propose solutions including presentation of annual renewals and
open enrollment presentations to small group clients Qualifications
- At least 3 years relevant experience required in the employee
benefits small group market segment, 2+ years managing others in
employee benefits (experience in insurance broker side of the
benefits business a plus)
- Life and Health Insurance State License or obtain within 60
days of employment
- GCG will support further educational pursuits including
licensing if necessary
- Knowledge of small group market segment and Health and Welfare
plans
- Ancillary Coverage including Life, Short- and Long-Term
Disability, Dental, Vision, etc.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel (creating and verifying financial
spreadsheets) and PowerPoint
- Experience with Zywave products, such as Brokerage Builder,
preferred
- Bachelor--------s degree or equivalent education and experience
