We promote from within and value employees who contribute to our company's growth.About the OpportunityWe are currently seeking a talented leader to fill the role of Director, Sales – Eastern USA.Position Purpose/Summary:To create and deliver overall sales strategy for the total product and services range in the designated market (eastern USA). To play a fundamental role in finding and developing new associates, developing future growth, provide vision, direction, and leadership. Achieve sales, gross margin, and marketing objectives, provide leadership, facilitate smooth operations, and project a professional image within the entire territory.Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Developing and delivering strategy and tactics necessary to achieve the sales revenue and gross profit annual targets
  • Responsible for all aspects of demand forecasting by account and market segment, and representation within the sales and operations planning company process
  • Responsible for target setting as part of the strategic and annual planning process
  • Key champion for strategic pricing initiatives in the region and participate in any pricing activity
  • Delivering sales by developing and maintaining relationships with strategic channel partners
  • Responsible for managing the human resources review (HRR) process including all aspects of performance management, training and development, personal development plans, performance improvement plans, and succession planning
  • Responsible to understand key competitive information and to participate in competitor analyses from time to time
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors including local and national vendor management
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets and maintaining the project database
  • Taking responsibility for commercial profit and loss in the entire territory
  • Increasing market share in existing markets and maximize new business development opportunities
  • Provide day to day direction to the Sales personnel, inside and outside personnel
  • Actively coaches and mentors employees to achieve excellence throughout the organization
  • Responsible for recruitment, selection and hiring for all positions in region
  • Enthusiastically supports and implement company policies and philosophies
  • Team-builder; Sets goals and motivates employees to achieve excellence in performance
  • Creates supportive work environment and empowers employees to make informed decisions
  • Prudently uses entertainment as a tool to facilitate building of relationships
  • Regularly communicates company vision and overall direction; emphasizes employees' value and opportunities
  • Maintains positive atmosphere, upbeat morale within region
  • All other duties as assigned by Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Market Segment ManagerHours and Environment
    • This is a senior management position in the company. Working hours are expected to cover normal working hours of the entire territory and including a wide degree of non-normal hours as required by the job. You'll spend much of your time visiting clients, partners, other branches of your organization and your sales team in the field. You may also need to attend conferences, trade fairs and exhibitions. Your job will involve travel in both the USA and abroad.
    • 75% travel is expected in this role. Education/Experience:
      • > 15 years proven Outside Sales Leader
      • 4-year college degree in relevant function (preference given to technical backgrounds)
      • Proven track record of achieving targets
      • Work based qualifications such as NVQs in sales or qualifications from professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM) and the Managing and Marketing Sales Association (MAMSA) are an advantage
      • In-depth knowledge of Sales, Products & PC based functionsSkills
        • Personable demeanor and professional appearance at all times
        • Highly organized; has disciplined approach to using time wisely
        • Uses delegation effectively
        • Ability to analyze business potential and economic conditions of region
        • 7+ years senior management experience
        • Highly self-motivated, leads by example; achiever with strong interpersonal skills
        • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
        • Detail oriented with consistent follow-up skills
        • Ability to recognize, hire, retain and promote talented employees
        • Experience in sales training and coaching
        • Extensive product and market knowledge
        • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
        • Free to travel within entire territory via air or ground
        • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
        • Good business sense
        • The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team
        • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
        • Excellent communication and 'people skills'
        • Good planning and organizational skills
        • The ability to work calmly under pressure
        • Good IT, budget and report writing skills
