resource management consultancy team providing a broad suite of
services in water resources management, natural resources
management, permitting & compliance, and liability management.

multidisciplinary team.Stantec's Environmental Services Business
Center is seeking a Senior Program Consultant/Senior Wetland
Scientist to join their high-performing team and play an integral
role in projects involving wetlands, wildlife, ecological and
regulatory needs supporting clients in the transportation, energy
and municipal market sector(s). Qualified candidates will be
expected to manage client relationships working closely with our
Great Lakes Regional Managers to support our versatile team of
accomplished biologists, ecologists, water resource specialists and
engineers in Northwest Indiana and the Great Chicagoland area.This
position is open to remote candidates who live in Indiana or the
Greater Chicagoland area and can travel 20%-25% of time for client
meetings.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the execution and delivery of your assigned
projects/programs within the approved scope, budget and schedule,
meeting or exceeding established safety and quality standards
- Lead and participate in project planning, scheduling,
developing cost estimates, and establishing critical project
objectives
- Provides leadership and guidance in multiple facets of projects
including safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction,
environmental compliance, project controls, and public/community
relations.
- Lead and coordinate directly with project discipline leads to
establish development and distribution of deliverables per project
schedule and requirements.
- Ensure projects are executed per client's governance and
project management standards and procedures, as well as Stantec's
Project Management Framework
- Analyze and communicate project status, risks, schedule, and
costs to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement good business practices, such as proactively
preventing task or project write-offs, limiting non-bill time on
tasks and projects, and quickly review/approve draft invoices
- Analyze and approve internal and external reports including
project scheduling, budgeting, cash flow forecast, and project
status reports.
- Handle client relationships with minimal supervision,
contribute to add-on work from existing clients, and help identify
and cultivate new client relationshipsQualificationsMinimum
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in botany, plant ecology, wetlands
ecology, riparian ecology, conservation biology, or related
science
- 5 years' experience in environmental and natural resource
management in Midwest; Indiana and Illinois preferred
- 5 years' experience with environmental project and/or client
management
- Experienced in wetland delineation, federal and state
regulatory permitting
- Experience with energy sector, transportation and linear
corridor clients
- Demonstrated experience developing work and building a
technical support team
- Familiarity with geographic information system (GIS)
applications and tabular data a plus
- Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) a plusTypical office
environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long
periods of time. Field work may include exposure to active
industrial sites, construction sites and the elements including
