Job Description:

A large food manufacturer in the Chicago, IL area is seeking a Regional Vice President (RVP) to oversee the operations of multiple US manufacturing facilities. This person is responsible for overseeing the operations of 4-5 food manufacturing facilities within a designated region. This role ensures that each plant operates efficiently, meets production goals, maintains high standards for quality and safety, and aligns with the company's strategic objectives. The RVP will provide leadership, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. 50-70% travel required.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the daily operations of multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring they meet production targets and operate within budget.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess plant performance and implement corrective actions as needed.Ensure consistency in operational processes and best practices across all facilities.Ensure all facilities comply with HACCP, FDA, USDA, and other relevant food safety regulations.Maintain high standards for product quality and food safety.Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any compliance issues.Lead and mentor plant managers and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Develop and implement leadership development programs to ensure a pipeline of future leaders within the region.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to support professional growth.Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve regional and corporate goals.Collaborate with senior management on capacity planning, capital investments, and expansion initiatives.Ensure alignment of regional operations with the company's overall strategic direction.Oversee regional budget development and manage financial performance to meet or exceed targets.Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.Ensure efficient allocation of resources across facilities.Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.Utilize data and analytics to identify opportunities for process optimization.Lead cross-functional teams to implement improvement projects.Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.Oversee regular safety audits and ensure implementation of corrective actions.Develop and enforce policies to minimize environmental impact.Serve as the primary liaison between regional operations and corporate management.Prepare and present regular reports on regional performance, challenges, and opportunities.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between facilities.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.Represent the company in regional industry associations and events.Address and resolve any stakeholder concerns promptly.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 10 years in a senior management role overseeing multiple facilities.Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving business goals.Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.Exceptional leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
