complex laboratories located throughout the North/Central and South
burbs. We have no third shift, and stable hours in the morning and
early evening. Weekend hours are only day shift, with labs closed
by 4pm.

Performs clinical analyses in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation,
Immunoassay, and Urinalysis with precision, accuracy and according
to laboratory policies and procedures and in accordance with all
regulatory agency requirements in order to provide results of the
highest level of quality to physicians and their patients.
Directives will be from Laboratory Manager and Laboratory
Supervisor. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the
mission and values of DuPage Medical Group. Employees are further
expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness
toward all patients, staff, physicians, and guests.
Responsibilities
The Journeys and Adventures that Await:
* Delegates staff assignments appropriately and prioritizes work
schedule
* Monitors quality control and quality assurance on a daily, weekly
and monthly basis
* Coordinates and monitors implementation of new reagent lots,
adjusts ranges when necessary
* Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves technical problems related
to methodology and instrumentation
* Coordinates preventative maintenance procedures as warranted by
service agreement
* Staff training/competency assessments (initial, 6 month &
annual)
* Assists with performance evaluations in conjunction with
supervisor
* Contributes to policy and procedure development
* Proficiency testing oversight, responsible for submitting
results
* Maintains adequate inventory of supplies
* Monitors and reviews reported results
* Participates in development and education
* Supervises work performed by department and may delegate work to
staff members. Counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing,
motivating, and mediating conflict resolution.
* Assists with staff development, new employee orientation, and
training. Monitors and ensures staff compliance with policies and
procedures.
* May be responsible for performance evaluations as required by
Human Resources.
* Responsible for managing the schedule, time keeping, and payroll
if necessary.
* Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The Experiences You Bring:
* Current Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or
Clinical Lab Scientist certification is required (ASCP/AMT).
* Bachelor's degree in a science related area.
* Clinical laboratory experience required and leadership experience
is preferred.
* Must have a current understanding of various methodologies for
specific testing including: limitations of testing, reference
methods, cross-reactivity, sensitivity, specificity, appropriate
test utilization, and interpretation of results.
* Experience with Roche, Siemens and Sysmex analyzers a plus.
* Must have current knowledge of CLIA, CAP and OSHA guidelines and
regulations.
Position Details:
* Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
* Monday- Friday; Must be willing to work variable shifts between
6:00am-10:00pm.
* Must be willing to work one weekend shift per month and rotating
holidays.
