Job Description:
The RN Clinical Leader is responsible for directing unit
activities and personnel on assigned shift in order to ensure high
quality patient care, teamwork, and coordination of care.#
Determines work priorities, prepares daily work assignments,
approves overtime and monitors compliance for regulatory
requirements.# Serves as resource person for unit personnel in
resolving operation and patient care problems, acts as physician
liaison, and role model for staff. #

performs duties of professional nurse which includes assessing
patients# condition, developing and administrating patient plan of
care, documenting care administered, and evaluating patient care
outcomes greater than fifty percent of the time. Assists in
overseeing and directing specific unit personnel in order to ensure
effective, cost efficient and safe provision of nursing care in
accordance with established standards. 3.1 #Coordinates and insures
timely patient placement within unit. 3.2 Authorizes overtime for
direct patient care needs. 3.3 Oversees work flows to ensure timely
patient admission and discharge. 3.4 Works on routine unit based
projects as assigned by the Manager. # Oversees staff in planning
and implementing delivery of patient care according to identified
patient needs, collaborates with the medical staff in communicating
and coordinating patient care. Utilizes knowledge and skills of
unit and department resource personnel in planning and implementing
care, and resolving complex patient care problems. # Assists in
hiring, orienting, training, evaluating the performances of and,
when necessary, disciplining department personnel.# Provides
direction, as necessary, to staff regarding sensitive and/or
complex work, related problems, resolves complaints and responds to
inquiries regarding department operations. # Develops and
implements the department#s policies and procedures, ensuring
overall quality of the services provided.# Oversees the department
quality program and actively participates on the Hospital Quality
Committee. # Assists the manager with development and
implementation of new programs. # Participates in activities which
enhance professional growth and development and ensure a current
knowledge base of evidenced based research and practice.# # Serves
as resource person for patient care personnel and aids in resolving
questions related to policies, standards, and patient care
techniques and procedures.# Regularly assesses patient
satisfaction, investigating and interviewing for immediate
complaints or problems. 9.1## Ensures completion and follow up of
unusual occurrences reports and employee injury reports. 9.2#
Coaches others to maintain a clean and safe environment. # # # #
#Provides feedback to manager on performance of assigned unit
personnel. # Required Education and/or Experience: Baccalaureate
Degree or higher in Nursing # (Incumbents hired after September,
2011) Demonstrates problem solving, conflict management, and
customer services skills to serve as role model and change agent
for corporate and unit based initiatives Preferred Education and/or
Experience: Previous charge nurse experience Minimum of three years
behavioral health experience# # #Required License and/or
Certification: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days

Required Education and/or Experience:
* Baccalaureate Degree or higher in Nursing - (Incumbents hired

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
* Previous charge nurse experience
* Minimum of three years behavioral health experience
Required License and/or Certification:
