Job Title: Clinical Resource Unit Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Clinical Resource Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience required License: Nursing License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations. Ability to manage care for both acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients. Ability to develop, implement, and modify patient care plans. Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects. Skill in preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care. Skill in IV venipuncture and blood administration. Ability to document care accurately using EMR. Ability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions. Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers. Ability to handle conflict management and maintain professional communication with team members. Skill in critical thinking to assess patient status and take appropriate action. Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members. Ability to prioritize patient safety and adhere to all safety standards including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety. Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards. Ability to delegate appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks. Our dedicated nursing staff, nurse leaders, interdisciplinary team members, and physician partners provide specialized medical and nursing care to various inpatient units. Medical diagnoses include, but are not limited to, coronary artery disease, angina, myocardial ischemia, myocardial infarction, dysrhythmia, syncope, congestive heart failure, strokes, cancer, cellulitis, post-surgical care, and chest pain. The environment is fast-paced, exciting, and always evolving. Job Responsibilities: Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Floats to various inpatient units and provides direct nursing care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient care to diverse patient populations. Conducts and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Acts as a resource to staff from various units. Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate and provide the highest possible quality patient care. Manages care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients. Collaboratively identifies patient goals of care and designs and maintains care plans with patients and families. Implements interventions as needed including medication administration and evaluation of effects. Prepares patients for procedures, provides pain management, performs IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitors labs. Discharges patients and provides instruction for safe transition from the hospital. Documents all care using EMR. Ensures team huddles are occurring and attends them. Delegates with appropriate follow-up. Answers call lights promptly. Ensures basic care such as turning, toileting, etc., is performed as per standards of care. Handles conflict management and maintains professional communication with all team members.
