Job Description:
Overview The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to
nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and
evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to
individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of
practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30
days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association

Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and

Nursing, Work Experience: Responsibilities Provides and facilitates
competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of
practice. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and
healthcare students. Provides leadership for initiatives designed
to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes. Assists
Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental
standing orders. Provides Patient Care: Accurately measures and
records height, weight vital signs (temp, pulse, respiration, BP).
Completes medication reconciliation. Performs immunization reviews.
Administers medications and vaccinations. Assists providers with
procedures and treatments; to include joint injections/aspirations,
laceration repair, removing foreign substances from the eye, wound
debridement, suture removal, and splint applications. Triage work
related injuries and phone calls. Medication refills. Performs
audiometry, spirometry, respiratory mask fits, EKGs and phlebotomy.
Performs ear washes, dressing changes and suture removal. Performs
drug and alcohol testing according to state and federal guidelines.
Counsels patients/employees on blood body fluid exposures. Ensures
documentation of care is complete and accurate. Communication:
Provides health and wellness education to patients. Provides
treatment information to companies, insurance carriers and outside
treatment facilities to coordinate Workerrsquo;s Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $30.39per hour -
$52.27per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum
range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The
actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a
variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s
experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts
