we'd love to talk to you! Primary Responsibilities: The primary job
responsibility of the Retail Category Specialist, Bakery is to act
as the intermediary between the customer, vendors and the fresh
sales team. It is the responsibility of the RCS to make sure the
customers' needs are met by the company and in doing so increase
sales on a consistent basis. To do this communication skills must
be very strong to both our external and internal customer. The
external customer is the business owner, manager, buyer, vendor or
category manager. The internal customer is everyone at KeHE,
Purchasing, Operations, Transportation and Finance. Essential
Growth in identified Strategic Accounts is expected, either through
better account penetration, new programs etc.
All KeHE Fresh customers identified as Strategic and new customers
identified as Strategic fall into your responsibility.
The RCS must ensure all promotional allowances are in ours and the
customer's system accurately and with correct start and end
The RCS will actively work to insure promotional activity is always
happening in your accounts by working directly with Manufacturers
and Brokers on your customer's behalf.
The RCS will be responsible for inventory committed to by his
customer and will work on overstock product until it is brought in
line or has a resolution.
The RCS will work with the Broker and Vendor community to grow our
mutual business by presenting new items to the customer. These can
be new items to Monterrey or existing items that Monterrey already
carries for other customers.
The RCS will present new items to their customers that are brought
in to Monterrey for other accounts. If it is in our warehouse we
want to sell it to everyone! The exception would be private label
or exclusive items to a customer in a region.
The RCS will return all phone calls and emails within a reasonable
amount of time, no more than 24 hours is the expectation.
The RCS will be financially conservative and a good steward of
company funds and resources.
A target list of new accounts you will be working on will be
submitted to the Director of Marketing by the 19th and updated by
the second Monday of the Month, each month with results of your
Daily call sheets will need to be entered prior to 10 am the
following work day.
An itinerary will be provided to the Sr. Director of Strategic
Accounts weekly by Friday 5pm for the following week.
Travel for this position is required. Send in travel forms and
requests and within budget.
All presentations will require a recap by the following work day at
10 am. Travel percentage is 50%
Supporting our customers, marketing and sales team on case by case
Quarterly review of category sales will be provided. Details on
each account will need to be reviewed and returned to the Sr.
Director Strategic accounts within 7 days.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills,
4-year Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred
Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate
Proficient in MS Office (esp. Powerpoint); e-learning software is
Phenomenal communication, presentation and public speaking
Organizational and time management abilities
Critical thinking and decision making
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding customer
Ability to travel extensively to meet with and to manage key
accounts up to 60 percent
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Ability to problem-solve complex issues.
Demonstrate a high level of independence and self-motivated - take
initiative and show resourcefulness while working in a flexible
Foster team participation.
