This is a 2nd shift position requiring Saturday availability. Join our team and keep our consumers smiling!SummaryReporting to the Controls Engineer, the Controls Technician will be responsible for designing and developing all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. The Controls Technician will work with new technologies and control systems and will be involved in a wide number of projects. This person will also be responsible for the installation and programming support of PLCs and software. As needed, the Controls Technician is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on production, packaging, and warehouse equipment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlans and performs work requiring electronic and mechanical theories and principles and writing specifications.Supports the installation of electrical equipment including PLC's, sensors, instrumentation, and drives.Recommends maintenance, test procedures and standards; plans for equipment and material needs; schedules and performs activities to ensure reliability of all electrical protection equipment and systems.Installs, services, maintains, inspects, tests, repairs, replaces, disassembles, adjusts, and cleans electrical and related equipment and relays used to protect and control functions of equipment such as, but not limited to, circuit breakers, transformers, capacitors, telemetry, automatic switches, supervisory control devices, and indicating and recording instruments, using hand tools.Develops clear and concise operator instruction manuals.Identifies opportunities to improve plant performance.Provides relevant training for control systems where applicable.As needed, responsible for aspects of industrial manufacturing maintenance of production lines.Utilize CMMS system and ensure work orders are complete and corrective maintenance issues are logged in the system.Effectively communicate with production personnel and other mechanics to identify areas of concern; provide and receive feedback and/or support through collection and analysis of information.Perform electrical repairs and troubleshoot for the following: PLC Controls, AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits, and grounding, interpret diagrams and test equipment.Read schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Maintain organized documentation, inspection records, etc. Install new electrical and mechanical equipment as directed. Perform building repairs and modifications when required. Support continuous improvement projects and maintain a safe working environment. Follow all food safety guidelines and report food safety and quality issues to supervisor.Perform other duties as required or assigned. Requirements Four or more years related experience and/or training performing controls and automation operations work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.PLC programming, HMI programming, Ethernet network configuration, PID loop tuning (level, pressure, temperature, flow), motor and drive configuration and troubleshootingGeneral understanding of electrical engineering.Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams and drawings.Ability to troubleshoot, make recommendations, and prioritize system improvements.Knowledge of test equipment, electromechanical and solid-state relays, meters, computers, communications equipment, and proper wiring methods and practices.Demonstrated proper knowledge of safe testing, maintenance, and repair techniques.Comprehensive knowledge of mathematical computation proceduresDemonstrated proper knowledge of safe testing, maintenance, and repair techniques.Considerable knowledge of the proper and safe use and application of tools, equipment, and hardware.Knowledge of Internet software, manufacturing software and preventative maintenance software.Read, clearly speak, and legibly write the English language.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
