Job Description:

Ecolab is seeking a Lead Chemist to join our team based out of our Naperville office. This candidate will primarily be responsible for providing technical support to drive internal efficiency programs focusing on Industrial sector. They will help coordinate, drive, and execute material substitution and consolidation projects to enable growth, savings, and security of supply. This candidate will also be accountable for enabling the selection of preferred materials for innovation and reformulation.

What You Will Do:

* Support cross functional teams and business units focusing on Industrial sector to develop/maintain materials and/or processes that support productivity to enable security of supply, savings, and growth
* Coordinates evaluation of alternate raw material sourcing options to drive savings, efficiency, resiliency, and/or sustainability
* Use application knowledge to support the development of preferred materials

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline and 6 years of Research & Development experience, or:
* Master's Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline and 4 years of Research & Development experience, or:
* PhD and 2 years of Research & Development experience
* 2 years of experience in product development and project management
* 2 years of experience working in a technical service, manufacturing support, and/or quality role
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proven track record of successful project management in areas of formulating, quality issue resolution, product development, and plant transfer/production scale up
* Excellent data mining, problem-solving, quantitative analytical skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational ability and attention to detail with a strong orientation for results and achievement.
* Ability to build collaborative relationships
* Understanding of raw material structure, property, and/or function in key product lines
