(ESOP) plan. Job Summary : Install and maintain production,
ancillary, and plant equipment in safe operating condition. Support
the Production, Shipping, and Quality departments as required or
directed. Analyze, design and fabricate solutions to resolve
equipment or process issues. Job Duties : Specific Responsibilities
/ Essential Functions 1. Adheres to Company Safety and Quality
policies and procedures. 2. Monitor assigned line---s operation
while complying with safety, quality, production, and housekeeping
standards by: 3. Verifying operating conditions and settings
against Process Set-up Sheet and Shop Order. 4. Ensuring that
safety guards are in place 5. Must work cooperatively with a team
of employees. 6. Must be able to understand verbal and written
instructions 7. Must be adapt at the use of a variety of hand,
hydraulic and pneumatic tools. 8. Must demonstrate good oral and
written communication skills. Able to assist with the education and
training of other employees. 9. Must be able to work independently
with little or no supervision. 10. Must have demonstrated
maintenance and troubleshooting skills involving mechanical,
hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as well as systems using electric
motors and sensors for operational functions (i.e. automated
equipment.) 11. Must be able to read schematics and blueprints. 12.
Performs and documents PM activities. 13. Maintain production,
auxiliary equipment and plant equipment in safe operating
condition. 14. Assists with the education and training of other
employees. 15. Installs production and auxiliary equipment
following Plant and departmental standards and applicable local
ordinances. 16. Makes repairs to building and facilities as
required. 17. Respond to production breakdowns and emergencies in a
timely manner. 18. Maintains work area in a safe, clean and orderly
manner. 19. Assists in line changeovers. 20. Helps keep the
equipment manuals organized and current. 21. Interfaces with other
employees as well as vendors and / or customers as required to help
insure timely delivery of a quality package. 22. Welds and cuts
steel and aluminium parts as required in the performance of repair
or installation activities. May be required to perform some
machining functions to keep equipment operating in emergencies. 23.
Acts as a maintenance resource for others. 24. Analyzes equipment
and/or system breakdowns and determines cause as well as possible
solutions. 25. Performs training and directs the technical work of
others as needed. 26. Assists the engineering department in
coordination and planning of installations and modifications of
existing equipment. 27. Assists with other PM documentation and
activities. 28. Interfaces with outside contractors to assist in
installing and maintaining production, auxiliary, and plant
equipment and facilities as required. JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintenance
Technician Specific Responsibilities / Essential
Functions-continued 29. Keeps current with pertinent technology in
field. 30. Performs all corrective/ preventive actions as well as
effectiveness check as needed. These are communicated by the
Quality Manager/ Supervisor anytime there is a complaint. 31.
Understand and communicate customer complaints to other employees
to create awareness of the different defects. 32. Train other
employees in areas of expertise when required 33. Assists other job
classifications when required 34. Performs other related duties as
directed by the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Leads.
Qualifications : -- Those employees with authorized training, have
the ability to shut down / stop equipment if continued operation is
a threat to any employee---s health and safety -- Recommend Staff
stop production for unacceptable quality -- Recommend Staff
quarantine out-of-specification products, materials or supplies --

Requirements 1. Education and Experience: a. High school diploma or
equivalent preferred or 7 years in Maintenance Role b. Some
post-secondary education preferred (i.e. technical or vocational
education) c. Must be able to read, write and speak and understand
English. d. Most be motivated and possess a high attention to
detail. e. Basic math, computer, and organizational skills 2.
Physical Requirements: This is a higher physical demand job a.
Employees must be able to work overtime, weekends and nights. b.
Frequently carry greater than 25 pounds up to 50 pounds;
occasionally lift 100 pounds overhead with assistance and 200
pounds with equipment. c. Employees are required to stand / walk on
concrete floors. d. Employees are required to bend; turn / twist;
kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp;
pinch; and have finger manipulations. 3. Required Safety Equipment:
a. Each facility requires personal protective equipment and may
require protective clothing. See site specific rules. 4.
Environmental Factors: a. Occasional exposures to noise of 85dB b.
