WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Retirement Plan Sales Advisor is responsible for identifying new prospects, fostering new relationships, and closing retirement plan sales opportunities within Busey Wealth Management. The Sales Advisor will engage in proactive and ongoing communication with referral sources and prospects to create, manage, and develop a pipeline of prospects at all times, while moving each through the sales cycle until the close stage.
Additional Duties:


  • Actively drive new retirement plan sales opportunities by pursuing and closing on leads.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Busey's unique retirement plan services, along with our providers' services, and be able to effectively communicate to prospects and referral sources.
  • Ensure proposed services maximize the clients' needs, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop new relationships through prospecting and building community networks.
  • Develop new retirement plan business through implementation of calls, visits, and contacts with other lines of business and centers of influence.
  • Gather and analyze pertinent information and data to create a comparison of proposed to current retirement plan investments, fees and services.
  • Create and present engaging presentations via virtual and onsite meetings.

    Knowledge of and/or ability to:

    • Strong communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal
    • Advanced analytical skills to create comparisons of current to proposed
    • Strong active listening skills with analytical and problem-solving capabilities; strong consultative, selling skills
    • Become an expert in product knowledge and solutions
    • Make independent decisions
    • Partner with other associates on the team in a collaborative and client-focused manner
    • Perform duties under frequent time pressures
    • Travel based on business needs, could include some overnights

      EDUCATION, TRAINING & STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

      • Requires Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Finance
      • Retirement plan experience is preferred, preferably with retirement plan sales
      • On-going development and broadening of appropriate knowledge and skills
      • Requires knowledge of standard business systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite
